*Job Summary:*
The New Patient Coordinator (NPC) manages the new patient process from the initial call through enrollment. The NPC promotes and sells the practice to prospective clients and is responsible for meeting goals for the enrollment of new patients.
*Essential Duties: *
* Answers all new patient phone line calls and assists with scheduling coordinator phone calls as needed.
* Confirms all new patient exams and observation recall appointments.
* Obtains all referral office pertinent information (records) prior to the new patient exam. This also may include the need to obtain secondary specialist records (sleep study, oral surgery exam notes, etc).
* Ensures that all new patient paperwork is complete and demographic and all pertinent patient information is accurately entered into the system.
* Works cooperatively with other administrative staff to maintain professional and well-kept reception and consultation areas.
* Researches insurance benefits and prepares estimates on treatment diagnosed before the exam or ensures that the third-party insurance verification has occurred for _all _current insurance policies before the exam _when third-party insurance verification has not already occurred._
* Reviews all new patient information for completion and provides training, as needed, for other staff involved in phone contact.
* Generates statistical reports related to the referral and new patient exam programs.
* Assist with designated marketing programs such as outreach to dental professionals, contests, promotions, and events.
* Assists with organizing activities related to school outreach programs.
*Cross-trained duties (Treatment Coordinator- TC role):*
* Introduces the new patient to the practice, demonstrates the value of treatment and the practice, and gives the new patient a tour.
* Provides patient information to the doctor prior to the exam.
* Assists the doctor during the new patient exam by documenting exam notes and treatment recommendations.
* Answers questions and explains treatment to new patients to gain enrollment.
* Maintains systems for communicating and following up with patients who are not ready for treatment.
* Coordinates patient financial arrangements according to the financial policy.
* Maintains appropriate financial documentation, including signed financial agreements.
* Schedules initial treatment appointments for enrolled patients. Prepares and sends all post-exam letters to patients/parents and general dentists.
* Creates strategies for gaining enrollment on all patients who have declined to begin treatment.
* Tracks and reports on the status of new patient enrollment concerning practice goals.
* Generates statistical reports of initial visits, observation enrollments, treatment enrollments, and related financials.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
