The Role:
The Maintenance Technician role is a key member of the team. The Maintenance Technician provides pride in home to the residents and is responsible for achieving cleanliness, maintenance repairs, replacements, and the onsite aesthetics. This role is involved in all areas of the community, including, but not limited to the resident apartments, the amenities such as the pool area, gym, and laundry room, as well as the building’s exteriors, the parking lots, leasing offices, and other community buildings for a multi-family residential apartment community. The Maintenance Technician provides excellent customer service in interactions with residents, guests, and prospects. This position may be scheduled for weekend work.
This position will be based in San Jose. Hours 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
What You Will Be Doing:

- Protect owner’s interests by managing the community in terms of cleanliness, compliance, and safety*.
- Assure that the community is maintained to be a friendly, welcoming, safe, and comfortable place for residents*.
- Follow all Fair Employment & Housing Act guidelines (FEHA) and Cambridge’s mission and values when interacting with residents, guests, and prospects*.
- Conduct daily walks to ensure compliance in all facets of the community performance to ensure that the property consistently meets our standards, including curb appeal, cleanliness, asset preservation, state of repair, safety, and security standards*.
- Conduct and oversee repairs and upkeep of the community and ensures timely completion within set guidelines, communicates with Community Manager of ongoing projects*.
- Preparation of vacant units for market ready and ensure compliance with Cambridge standards of quality and timeliness of the unit turn*.
- Maintains the proper storage of the maintenance tools, equipment, supplies and cleaning inventory*.
- Participates in training of the service team on company and community policies, including CAL-OSHA standards.
- Participates in the activities related to the Move-In and Move-Out experience, ensuring our market readies meet the company and quality standards*.
- Partner with vendors to ensure project completion and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a fundamental working knowledge of all community documentation and resident guide policies and procedures.
- Be available for on-call after hour’s emergencies, as scheduled*.
- Ensure timely communication with Community Manager to anticipate and prevent future concerns*.
- Pick up materials and parts when needed. Must have a car and valid CA driver's license.
- Other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to The Table:
Education & Experience
- Minimum of a High School education or GED.
- Ability to quickly assess, diagnose, repair or recommend solutions to a variety of maintenance issues.
- Plumbing and electrical experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in Multi-Family Residential Property Management, or a related field.
The Physical Work:
The role is performed at one or more communities in the field with noise levels in a low to moderate level. This position requires the ability to work outside on a regular basis in various temperature and humidity conditions. While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and team-lift up to 100 pounds.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
