Who is our Staff Graphic Designer?
Wagner Portrait Group is searching for a talented and energetic experienced graphic designer to support the graphics and yearbook team in various creative projects in the portrait photography industry. The right candidate is upbeat, friendly, and outgoing and is also very organized, good at multitasking and prioritizing their workload. The perfect candidate will be able to work quickly and have strong communication skills with both teammates and clients while handling multiple requests from both. The candidate must also be able to complete tasks in a timely manner while keeping detailed notes on progress and updating team members as necessary.
This full-time position includes tasks for both print and digital media ranging from account and project management, file prep, photo manipulation such as background replacement and color correcting, to templated projects and designing for print projects. Daily tasks can involve both text and image-based projects, using templates, handling incoming inquiries through email and phone and requires a good eye for both design and detail with the ability to work quickly to meet deadlines. Administrative tasks to help maintain accounts require attention to detail and exceptional note taking when completing projects and tasks. This position also requires excellent customer service and computer skills and works closely with our photography, marketing and production teams.
Hours are 8:30am to 5pm (occasionally 8 am – 4:30 pm may be needed during peak season), Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.

Day to day life of a Graphics Project Support Staff:
- Retouch and edit client photographs.
- Import, track, and process data and photo documentation.
- Prioritize jobs to maintain Wagner Portrait Group timelines.
- Answer specific customer requests for additional edits and/or assistance including helping with troubleshooting.
- Assist with print design projects throughout the year.
- Place orders with vendors and track their progress.
- Identify and rectify issues.
- Logging detailed notes about each project.
- Answer internal questions about project statuses and more.
- Create original design work for a multitude of digital projects.
- Assist in creating marketing materials.
- Handle multiple requests from both clients and teammates in a timely and organized manner while keeping detailed notes on progress.
Can you check these boxes?
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (required) and/or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (recommended) with at least 2 year's experience in a professional setting. We will also consider 4+ years of equivalent experience in a Graphic Design role (freelance with proof of work included).
- Must be able to return a satisfactory background check.
- Comfortable with independent and collaborative work.
- Exceptional customer service communication skills both verbally and written required.
- Ability and drive to learn new software programs as needed.
- Able to switch tasks quickly based on priority of tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) required.
- Full working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge and InDesign required.
- Experience working in Adobe Illustrator is a definite plus.
- Working knowledge of Dropbox and Google Drive preferred.
- Experience with Airtable and Microsoft Teams is a plus!
- Can provide a link to or copy of your portfolio of work when submitting your application.

Salary: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5 pm, depending on department needs

Education:
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Associates Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent field and 2 years of work experience OR 4+ years of work experience as Graphic Designer (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent field and 2 years of work experience a plus!
Experience:
- Image editing: 3 years (Required)
- Microsoft Word and Excel: 2 years (Required)
- Adobe Photoshop: 4 years (Required)
- Adobe Bridge: 4 years (Required)
- Adobe InDesign 4 years (Required)
- Adobe Illustrator: 4 years (Preferred)
- Customer service experience: 1-2 years (Required)
