Licensed Social Workers shall be able to perform the following:
1. Conducts intakes, evaluations and/or assessments for referred inmates.
2. Diagnoses and provides ongoing assessments, treatment planning and psychotherapy, for suicidal and/or homicidal intervention and succinct management for high-risk inmates.
3. Provides mental health counseling services to mentally ill, behaviorally troubled, and developmentally impaired inmate through individual counseling, group sessions and crisis interventions.
4. Writes reports documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations and progress reports for inmates retained in Special Management Unit and/or inmates who are on lock down due to mental health and/or behavioral concerns.
5. Coordinates or link inmates to psychiatric prescribers who require evaluation for medication for reevaluation of current medications.
6. Provides consultation to correction officers and health care staff regarding inmates' behavior and safety concerns who are experiencing mental health trepidations.
7. Provides mental health crisis intervention techniques for the BOC Personnel.
8. Updates and maintains records of services provided and encounters experienced appropriately and accurately according to facility and agency policies. Maintains confidentially as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or other behavioral science-related degree.
- 2 years’ experience in health care, social service.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

- Experience in working with a diverse population base, with complex and challenging situations required.
- Ability to appropriately handle confrontation and conflict.
- Training in organizational behavior, human relations, conflict resolution, and mental health issues
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal community resources available to patients
- Administrative experience and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
- Superior verbal and written communications, interviewing skills/Assessment skills including psychosocial assessment, and the ability to work with a diverse population.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and to seek consultation as necessary.
- Ability to follow organization and departmental processes and procedures.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Communicates effectively with mental health, medical and security staff as well as other entities involved with inmate's continuity of care.
Licensed Social Workers shall work eight hours per day for five days each week or 12 hours for four days each week.
Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with organizational policy, Federal, State, and local regulations.
