The CST/RN is responsible for supporting the physicians of PSG by preparing the operating room, setting up surgical equipment, assisting with surgeries, and maintaining a sterile and safe operating room before and after surgery. In addition, the CST/RN is responsible for performing patient assessments during clinical, triaging medical issues via telephone, and acting as a liaison for patients and physicians. This position must reflect a high level of service and professional appearance while demonstrating high quality customer care.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during surgical procedures.
- Pre and post clinic review of medical charts for correct documentation, referral, correspondence, insurance, dictation and any testing requirements.
- Responsible for chart documentation, including thorough knowledge and mastery of the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist physicians and mid-levels in clinic during medical examinations
- Ensures efficient patient flow and patient care is carried out in the manner specified by their doctor and practice policy.
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
- Serves as conduit for effective communication of physician needs to administration and other departments.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Responsible for distributing necessary documentation to appropriate staff for necessary follow-up.
- Other varying clinical and clerical duties as assigned.
