Function/Skills:
The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the Accounts Receivable Manager in enrolling, maintaining and billing disabled residents and/or participants in entitlement programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (Food Stamps), Citizenship, etc., from which the Agency derives its funding.
Responsibilities
□ Assess all intakes to determine that they are eligible for all the benefits and entitlements which form the basis for the Agency’s funding as Representative Payee;
□ Accounts Receivable, unpaid claims and billing;
□ Obtain necessary documents to enroll participants in entitlement programs constituting program service reimbursement, maintaining and organizing files of same in established directories;
□ Assist Program Managers, Coordinators and Directors in the filing of documentation necessary for access to reimbursement entitlements and benefits, as well as 3rd Party health insurance enrollment, including Form DDP1;
□ Accompany Program Managers and participants to various government offices to obtain necessary paperwork for program funding certification;
□ Execute the monthly process of “swiping” Food Stamp cards for program revenues derived therefrom;
□ Track participants’ applications for benefits and entitlements and upcoming appointments;
□ Remain abreast of the current applicable rules and regulations for benefit enrollment;
□ Maintain accurate records on each participant’s needs and progress;
□ Sort, scan and label daily mail;
□ Participate in case conferencing as required; and
Qualifications
□ Associates or Bachelors Preferred
□ Understanding of Federal, New York State and local benefits and entitlements systems, including but not limited to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program;
□ Basic understanding of Medicaid billing and Accounts Receivable
□ Familiarity with the ePaces and NYS CHOICES database systems
□ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
