POSITION SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibility of the Material Handler/Forklift Driver is to ensure that production lines and/or areas have the necessary parts, materials, equipment and supplies to build product when needed with zero down time and meeting the company’s ultimate goal of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
The Materials Handler works in multiple capacities including: Packaging, pulling material, and palletizing. Cross training in all of these areas is a requirement in order to help the Materials department maintain flexibility. This role includes Shipping and Receiving. Knowledge of FIFO and Kanban is essential in this position. The candidate must show that they can train and lead by example in a fast paced work environment.
Essential Accountabilities: Duties and responsibilities are not limited to and are as follows:
- Successfully complete all essential training
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, stand up lifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to pick, move, stock and/or reorganize materials.
- Loads, unloads incoming and outbound trucks.
- Moves materials within the plant.
- Delivers materials and supplies to production areas as required.
- Participates in routing, counting and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks.
- Prepares ,submits and delivers area reports as required.
- Operates, set up, collect and/or verify data from equipment.
- Inspect, clean, fill, empty, tag, identify resin hopper feeding system.
- Ensures ALL plastic bags are wiped and cleaned prior to emptying into hoppers.
- Ensures the CORRECT resin is filled into each hopper and maintains hoppers filled at all times during the shift.
- Fills out and maintains resin traceability log sheet for quality.
- Assist in the delivery of finished goods from assembly to shipping dock or any area required.
- Pick, store, organize, and stage material according to standardized work.
- Operate label printer.
- Carry out Standard Work Scheduled activities as defined by the Supervisor.
- Back up other team members when necessary regardless of department and as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
- Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, climbing ladders, staircases, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist. Indoor/ out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes.
- Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.
