The truck driver position is expected to work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations. You will operate a company delivery truck, load and unload freight for deliveries to local customers. Position requires commercial drivers' license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate company-owned and leased Class B & Class A vehicles to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
- Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of materials.
- Perform required before, during and after-operation inspections and provide required reports.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Operate forklifts.
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect company property
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.
Tasks:
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials.
- Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service repairs, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
Physical Demands:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.
Experience:
- 2 or more year(s) of experience as a truck driver.
- Class A CDL License preferred.
Additionally, applicants are required to:
· have a clean Motor Vehicle Record
· pass DOT physical, criminal background check and drug screen.
· have a clean appearance.
· be familiar with local and surrounding areas.
· have the ability to read maps and follow directions.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. until route is completed.
