The Safety Manager role is an onsite position, and the team member would need to reside within driving distance of one of our five plant locations (Solomon, KS, Decatur, TN, Sharon, PA, Grand Junction, CO or Temple, TX).
This position is responsible for driving positive change in safety cultures, producing professional safety documentation, identifying, mitigating, and teaching co-workers about risk and ways to reduce it, eliminate it, and ensure the process sustains it.

Leads facility safety initiatives, audits, and supports others in getting safety-related assignments done.

Coordinates ongoing safety training, including designing, teaching, and guiding others to teach training programs.

Demonstrates expertise in all types of typical safety training, including new hire safety training, annual training, forklift, and hoist certification, fall protection training, respirator fit program, SPCC program training, and hazardous waste training.

Oversees management of safety tools and equipment, such as eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and inspections.

Manages industrial hygiene requirements and third-party vendors to ensure compliance.

Audits safety processes to validate compliance and transfer of knowledge to the plant floor.

Supports monthly operational goals with ideas to reduce hazards and risk exposures.

Oversees all root cause investigation and corrective action process in the event a situation arises, with an eye for making certain the corrective action remains in place going forward. For serious and/or repeat incidents, ensures lessons learned are spread throughout the enterprise.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or equivalent industrial experience.

8-12 years professional safety experience; preferably from a robust and dynamic safety program.
