The Project Manager 2 (PM2) is a developmental position leading to a project manager 3 (PM3) position. It is responsible for managing small projects as the only PM, a smaller section of a medium/large project reporting to a PM3 or SPM, or functioning as a specialist assisting the PM in areas such as quality, inventory, technical, reporting, etc. The PM2 is responsible for oversight, coaching, and training of team members. This position should understand current challenges and progress of a project and communicate frequently and appropriately with management and with the client as needed. This role should hold a level of expertise sufficient to problem solve and drive process improvement and may assume increased scope of responsibilities under direction of management to gain experience necessary to become a PM3.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Tracking
Support the Project PM or Program Manager in monitoring production metrics (task completion, milestone completion, project hours) against budget and schedule to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget
Health and Safety
Support the Project PM or Program Manager in the effective implementation of Health Safety & Environmental policies and processes in line with NPSG and General Contractor requirements for all NPSG associates on the project. This includes: assisting with the development of the Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis, conducting toolbox talks and effective Accident Reporting.
Agency Resourcing
Support the Project PM or Program Manager in temporary staff planning in liaison with HR & temporary agencies as required.
Training
Support the Project PM or Program Manager by ensuring the project teams are trained on the correct processes for tasks that support the scope of work and ensuring they have the right tools to complete the task. Verify Individuals hold appropriate certifications to operate the machinery for the intended scope.
Project Execution to budgeted hours and headcount
Be aware of the budgeted hours and headcount and Support the Project PM or Program Manager in tracking
Milestone Completion
Support the Project PM or Program Manager with completion of tasks within the schedule outlined in the SOW and agreed with the customer
Communication
Communicate with the Project PM or Program Manager as needed. Support the customer reporting process
Quality
Monitoring, tracking and reporting quality metrics to ensure projects are delivered to the quality levels expected
Performance Management
Assess employees to ensure they are meeting performance and attendance expectations, assist the PM in addressing performance issues, and identifying employees that perform at a high level
Inventory Management
Support the Project PM or Program Manager in control and accountability of inventory and tools
Change Management
Support the Program Manager in tracking scopes of work against contractual requirements and following customer/NPSG processes to report change orders as they arise.
Experience & Skills Required:
Work experience
At least 2 years previous experience managing projects and teams in intralogistics, warehouse, construction or similar industry. Or similar supervisory experience.
Educational Qualifications
Associates degree preferred.
Stakeholder management & communication skills
Has some exposure working professionally with diverse personalities – clients, suppliers, NPSG managers, employees, temporary agency temps and other stakeholders, and demonstrates an aptitude for this. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Financial & numerical knowledge & skills
Some experience with budget management.

Organizational skills

OSHA 10 certification. Some knowledge of, and experience in the application of, health & safety requirements for construction and installation activities.
Software skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Microsoft Project and Computer Aided Design experience preferred but not required.
Language skills
Fluent spoken and written English.
Conversant in Spanish is a plus.
Essential Physical Attributes
Needs to be physically fit, able to walk long distances every day due to the scale of the warehouses that they will work in.
Able to carry weights up to 45 pounds, lift and move parts and tools requiring bending and carrying, within safe limits
Additional Prerequisites for employment
Right to work in the USA; willing and able to travel up to 100%; Valid drivers license
