Position Overview
Journey is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Plant Management to join our team. This home office-based position is integral to ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in long-term care environments and demonstrate exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all Journey facilities.
- Lead a team of regional plant managers and maintenance staff across multiple locations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for plant management.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting
- Develop and manage the annual budget for plant operations.
- Create and execute a long-term capital improvement plan.
- Evaluate and recommend investments in infrastructure, equipment, and technology to enhance facility operations.
- Operational Excellence
- Monitor and assess the performance of plant operations, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure effective preventive maintenance programs are in place and adhered to.
- Oversee vendor management, including negotiating contracts and evaluating performance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all facilities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Implement and oversee emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure facilities meet the needs of residents and staff.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, providing regular updates on plant operations and strategic initiatives.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in plant management, with at least 3 years in a long-term care setting.
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent strategic planning and budgeting abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for long-term care facilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and other relevant technologies.
Working Conditions
- This position is a home office position but is primarily field based with travel to various Journey facilities as needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the role.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
