Controller
Introduction: Based in Greenwich Connecticut, our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team as a Controller. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as experience working in the hedge fund, fixed income, credit management, and funding management industries.
What you'll be doing:

Oversee and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.

Analyze financial data and make recommendations to improve financial performance

Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information- Prepare financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals- Monitor and interpret financial trends to identify potential risks and opportunities

Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices

Train and mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues
Qualifications:
At least 4 years of professional experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - REQUIRED

Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the hedge fund, fixed income, credit management, or funding management industries

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong leadership and management abilities

Proficiency in accounting software

STRONG Excel skills
