About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Spine & Orthopedic Registered Nurse to join our renowned orthopedic spine surgery team. In this role, you will work closely with our spine and sports medicine providers to provide-high quality patient care and support the day to day operations of our spine surgery practice. What You Will Do
Clinical Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
- Take vital signs, document patient medical history and complete procedures as directed
- Educate patients on their orthopedic conditions, pre-operative and post-operative care and rehabilitation exercises.
X-ray and Imaging:
- Ensure that images are properly ordered, labeled, and organized in patient records
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and Records:
- Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
- Surgery scheduler duties: insurance authorization, patient financial counseling, facility scheduling, surgical coordination
- Maintain and update patient medical records, including electronic health records (EHR)
- Maintain physician calendar of events, meetings, conferences
Billing and Coding
- Assist in billing and coding procedures, ensuring accurate documentation of services provided
Preoperative and Postoperative Preparation:
- Coordinate preoperative testing and ensure patients are prepared for surgery
- Assist with postoperative follow-up appointments and care instructions
Patient Communication
- Communicate with patients, answer their questions, and provide information and surgery and recovery
- Acts as a liaison between patients and the physician
Equipment and Supplies
- Maintain and inventory medical supplies and equipment
- Ensure that all necessary supplies are readily available for procedures

Qualifications
- Completed a formal medical assisting program
- Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred
- Active California Registered Nurse License
- Prior experience in orthopedic and spinal surgery is highly desirable
- Prior experience as physician admin assistant or surgical scheduling experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast paced clinical environment
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
