Mile High STRTP Clinical Director
Job Description
DUTIES: The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Mental Health Program. The Clinical Director will ensure that the Clinicians, Head of Services, Social Workers and Rehabilitation Specialists provide intensive treatment, including individual, family, group therapy, substance abuse treatment, rehabilitative support, case management and medication support services to at risk youth and families. They will in addition ensure that the program operates in compliance with contract requirements, and is prepared for audits from various agencies. This position will also ensure that all licenses, supervision hours, CEUs/trainings, and all contract requirements are up to date. The Clinical Director reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is a salaried position.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a social service field (e.g., Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy), or doctorate in psychology required.
- Licensure as either Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Clinical Psychologist in active status with State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Must have at least two years post licensure experience, including the state required clinical supervision trainings.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a residential setting, preferred
- Five years progressively responsible administrative and/or supervisory duties, preferred
- Appropriate degrees, credentials, and licenses, as may be required by law or professional standard bodies.
Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to perform program specialty, provide supervisory skills and assume administrative duties and responsibilities.
- Able to work in a harmonious manner with subordinates, supervisors and others.
- Knowledge of complexities and mechanics of coordinating a special program/s or agency program/s.
- Knowledge of developments and trends in program field.
- Intimate knowledge of all State and Federal Regulations
- Must be able to use their mental faculties to make appropriate judgment in all areas that affect the care, welfare, safety and security of Mile High staff and residents.
- Must be able to walk, run, bend, climb, lift and engage in physical restraints which require physical strength, endurance and flexibility in all body joints and major muscle groups.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure that all programs align with the agency’s mission and values.
- Build and enhance partnerships with public and private organizations to actualize the vision and mission of agency.
- Promote partnerships and collaboration within and between all agency programs and departments.
- Design, oversee and advocate for all components of agency programs.
- Develop and implements programs and training curriculums consistent with clinical theory, best-practices, and evidence-based and empirically driven models.
- Assess new programmatic opportunities, and their suitability and alignment with agency’s mission.
- Collaborate with CEO and Mental Health HOS in implementing and overseeing program requirements
- Oversee all services across agency’s continuum of care; ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and those of other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Supervise, annually review, collaborate with and mentor identified agency staff
- Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with external partners and funders. Ensures maintenance of contracts and agreements with public and private entities, and ensures timely submission of required documents and reports.
- Represent agency to professional communities in areas such as mental health, educational and social services fields.
- Consult and collaborate with Human Resources in the administration of personnel policies. Continuously evaluate ways of improving staff recruitment, retention, satisfaction and safety.
- Interface with staff members across agency departments to ensure alignment of program outcomes and strong cross-departmental collaboration between programs.
Working Hours
The Clinical Director normally works a forty-hour week; typically, this position demands substantially more hours. Therefore, the Clinical Director’s schedule will occur primarily during the hours that provide optimum supervision and direction of the program and staff at Mile High, and during the hours when businesses are open for operation.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is determined by the CEO of Mile High within the limits of the existing range established by the Board of Directors, based on evaluation of the applicant's qualifications. This position receives the benefits accorded all full-time professional staff including a generous vacation allowance and a paid health insurance plan.
