Summary:
The Clinician provides mental health services and case management to assigned clients who have severe, mental illness. This is a filed-based role.
Responsibilities:
· Ensures Mental Health services are provided and documented in a manner consistent with contractual requirements.
· Completes and submits all billing sheets along with proper clinical documentation in a timely manner.
· Provides clinical leadership for the treatment team of representatives from the residential, educational, and mental health service components to coordinate the delivery of effective mental health services.
· Develops, updates and completes Pre-Authorization Requests, Service Plans and Coordination Plans for all clients in a timely fashion.
· Works with the Mental Health Program Manager to ensure program activities conform to program parameters as portrayed to the Department of Mental Health and are consistent with the Service Plan and the individual needs of each client
· Ensures all interventions utilized are in accordance with agency policies and treatment philosophy.
· Participates in monthly and ongoing training and demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
Requirements:
· Must possess a Doctoral or Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work and maintain an active license in the State of California as a Clinical Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or have received a waiver of licensure/intern granted by the State Department of Mental Health, or be license-eligible and registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
· Must demonstrate an effective knowledge of DSM IV, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health documentation requirements, and an understanding of DMH criteria for determining whether individual clients manifest “medical necessity” for treatment.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance if transporting clients/families.
