Job Title: Kids Connect Associate

General Description:
It is the responsibility of the Kids Connect Associate for providing a safe babysitting service for YMCA members while parents and/or guardians use the YMCA. This will be done in a manner that represents the standards set forth by the YMCA.
Essential Job Duties That Must Be Safely Performed With or Without Reasonable Accommodation:
- Care for children age 6 months to 11 years old and check membership cards.
- Effectively communicate with parents and supervisors.
- Accurately document child arrivals and departures as well as emergency information (i.e.; where the parent/guardian will be in the YMCA).
- Ensure that the babysitting room is maintained in a clean and safe manner and is kept organized.
- Clean toys and assist in other childcare programs where needed.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all information obtained on the children in the YMCA programs and all personnel information, including benefits and salary information.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

The position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling.Required Job Skills: Must be able to provide verbal/visual presentations to students.Education/Experience: Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
- The position requires contact with members, families, facility staff, and the general public.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift and carry children up to 50 pounds in weight in a safe manner.
- Must be able to lift and move tables, chairs, and large equipment (toys) up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Proven ability to relate effectively with coworkers, employees, parents and children of varying ages.
- Represent the YMCA in a professional manner, projecting a positive and encouraging attitude.
- High school diploma or GED required if over 18.
- CPR and first aid certification required.
- Prior Childcare experience is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.15 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 12 per week
Schedule:
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
