Busy periodontal practice is seeking to hire a Surgical Dental Assistant to join our team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room to exam rooms, prepares patient for exam or treatment.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Assists physician in surgical procedures.
- Assists in monitoring patients under IV anesthesia with training.
- Assists in maintaining integrity of all emergency drugs and equipment.
- Acts as patient advocate.
- Maintains clinical logs.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments, along with preparing instrument trays
- Take and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication history in computer.
- Take digital x-rays and photos.
- Ensure appropriate supply of equipment and materials.
- Perform patient charting as instructed by the dentist.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical assisting, scrub technician, or dental assisting program, certification preferred.
- Must maintain current state licensure and certification in radiology and nitrous monitoring.
- BCLS Certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines.
- Possess a professional and positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
