Job Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing all the activities and duties of the welding and machining staff and ensuring that all products are set to each standard of quality for each customer.
Essential Job Functions:
- Inspect all weld and machined surfaces to verify no defects and meet dimension requirements.
- Ensuring the correct equipment & welding materials are being used for all welds.
- Suggesting alternative welding techniques or fabrication methods to minimize manufacturing waste.
- Verify all part placements required in the engineering blueprints.
- Inspect all painted products for defects such as runs, inadequate coverage and correct color.
- May be required to attend meetings to obtain and discuss production defects and ECO changes.
- Record inspection results, quality reports, calculating re-works costs & inputting into QMS database
- Provide root-cause analysis for all internal and external product defects & rework incidents
- Inspect all outsourced parts when received.
- Propose new manufacturing processes to drive quality at the source and increased production output.
- Train production team on critical quality control processes and procedures.
- Actively communicate with Management Team on any potential delays to production
- Communicate with end customers on best practices and any potential deviations.
- Travel for training and/or customer needs.
- Perform all other functions as needed.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to implement area process improvements.
- Flexible and able to work extra hours as dictated by production needs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to gain knowledge on all new product lines.
- Having good eyesight and physical strength.
- Team player and highly motivated.
- Being observant and analytical.
