POSITION SUMMARY
Vericel has an opening for a temporary position in the Materials Department. This role works to ensure that the manufacturing staff has all the appropriate materials in hand and in inventory, to process life-enhancing cell therapies for our patients. In this role, you will primarily perform shipping and receiving activities following department work instructions, procedures with management support. Previous GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) experience is preferred but not required. The company will provide training.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:

After completing training requirements, the Materials Associate will perform all required manufacturing support activities in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and safety regulations,
-
Receive and distribute all inventoried material and general goods delivered to the Vericel site.

Load and unload delivery vehicles and assemble stock onto pallets, warehouse trucks, racks, bins, shelves, refrigerators and freezers.

Open cartons, bundles, and other containers. Must be able to convey stock onto pallets, warehouse trucks, racks, bins, shelves refrigerators and freezers.

Maintain two gas systems including weekly manual fills of Liquid Nitrogen Cryovials Storage Dewars.

Maintain inventory control in ERP system by performing system transactions at time of material receipt, storage and distribution.

Work with team to perform routine inventory cycle counts and participate in annual physical inventory activities.

Once trained, perform either/or Receiving and Inspection of incoming biopsy kits.

Perform additional activities as required to support manufacturing operations which can be found in approved job description.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualifications:
-
GED, High school diploma or equivalent plus previous warehouse experience, preferably in a cGMP environment in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

Ability to comply with regulatory compliance within Vericel.

Experience in high volume and fast-paced materials and manufacturing support environment.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
-
Past experience operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

Organizational planning skills and the ability to collaborate with others in a team environment.
-
Experience with MS Office.

Knowledge of ERP (Great Plains) inventory system is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS .

May be required to work in classified and controlled areas such as clean room environment wearing special garments such as personal protective equipment.

Working in a warehouse requires that candidate is required to lift, push or pull up to 40 lbs. This role also often requires standing for long periods of time while performing physical duties.

Candidate will likely operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

This role is scheduled to work one weekend-day (either Saturday or Sunday), sometimes holidays for which one would be compensated. Overtime is generally available and sometimes necessary to meet production demands.
