Warehouse Person II - IT

Position Purpose
Provides logistical support for the IT Warehouse. Loads assigned delivery vehicle with warehouse supplies, drives to specific locations and unloads materials. Receives all incoming deliveries, logs changes to inventory, and stocks items in proper locations within the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Loads and delivers IT Warehouse inventory, following an assigned route to District buildings in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Operates a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, furniture hand dollies, stock pickers, and others.
- Performs preventative maintenance and disassembly / reassembly of warehouse equipment.
- Assists in all warehouse operations as determined by warehouse supervisor including loading and unloading incoming and outgoing stock, assisting with warehouse inventories, and performing housekeeping duties.
- Ensures all pulling, loading, and delivery tickets are accurately filled and delivered to specified locations; obtains signatures for items delivered.
- Verifies route quantities to ensure correct loading; provides exceptional customer service.
- Completes emergency deliveries as directed.
- Restocks bins and shelves with supplies as needed.
- Receives, logs in, and affixes asset identification to devices and other assets that require tracking.
- Picks up and delivers all identified new and surplus technology equipment at all FWISD facilities, including donated equipment, computers, mobile laptop carts, and other items.
- Maintains a clean and neat vehicle and work area.
Safety
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe work area conditions and promptly reports any conditions not immediately correctable to supervisor.

- Knowledge of IT Warehouse tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including District rules and regulations, OSHA, and Texas rules of the road.

- Skill at the beginner level, working with Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Travel Requirements
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, platform dollies, stock pickers, and others; may use clip boards, and scanners.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent reaching to lift or place moderately heavy objects (less than 45 pounds) including reaching overhead; frequent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting and carrying (less than 45 pounds).
- Exerting: Frequent exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force to move objects; occasional exerting in excess of 100 pounds; may require increased work pace in order to meet deadlines.
- Environment: Works indoors 40% in an IT Warehouse setting, 30% in cab of truck, 30% outdoors (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise from the vehicle and environment; frequently involves moderately heavy lifting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
- Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions; conscious of safety protocols at all times.
- Vision: Performs tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; with or without corrective lenses.
- Special Requirements: Responds to emergency work requests and works unexpected overtime with limited or no advanced knowledge.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency.
- Certification/License: Clear and valid Texas Driver's License; insurable by the District’s insurance carrier; forklift certification preferred or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
- Experience: 2 years’ verifiable experience in truck driving, or warehouse duties including receiving shipments, pulling orders, and inventory counts.

- Must be at least 21 years old.
- NO positive drug or alcohol tests including pre-employment, random, post-accident or reasonable suspicion.

- NO more than 2 violations during previous 36 months including:
-
moving traffic violations (including no more than 1 preventable accident);
- failure to provide proof of valid driver’s license or proof of insurance;
- equipment violations.
- NO Driving Under the Influence (DUI) for drug or alcohol.
- NO leaving scene of an accident (bodily injury or physical damage).
- NO vehicular assault, manslaughter, or homicide.
- NO operating a vehicle with suspended or revoked driver’s license.
- NO reckless driving, speed contests, drag racing, or highway racing.
- NO use of a vehicle in commission of a felony.
- NO operating a vehicle without owner’s permission (unauthorized use or grand theft).
- NO permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
- NO speeding more than 20 mph over the posted speed limit.
- NO history of a conviction in a commercial or personal motor vehicle.
- Additional restrictions may apply if directed by FWISD’s Fleet Insurance Carrier.
