Job Summary:
The Quality Manager leads the quality department, handling customer issues, managing the Quality Management System (QMS), and tracking departmental metrics. The role focuses on continuous improvement, personnel development, and increasing efficiency through technology. The Quality Manager also oversees problem-solving initiatives and ensures sustainment of improvements.
Essential Functions:
- Set strategic direction and goals for the Quality Department.
- Act as main contact for customer quality issues and provide solutions.
- Ensure QMS compliance with standards and customer requirements.
- Manage ISO audits, compliance, and internal audits.
- Collaborate with purchasing to establish and monitor supplier quality.
- Track and report key Quality Metrics to management.
- Oversee tools and equipment for accurate measurements.
- Lead quality initiatives and projects.
- Transition department to proactive approach with metrics.
- Manage quality database for returns, non-conformances, and complaints.
- Prioritize and address internal and external quality issues.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement events and follow-up.
- Train on Lean and Six Sigma methods.
- Implement root cause analysis for corrective actions.
- Enhance department efficiency with new tools and technology.
- Utilize statistical methods for process controls and capabilities.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations.
- Maintain and improve quality through audits.
- Interface with Engineering and Operations for new product transfers.
- Stay updated with educational opportunities and professional publications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with ten years’ experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in ISO certified facilities and internal audits.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills and creativity.
- High level of computer literacy.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- QA certification (CQM, CQE, CQA).
- Audit experience in various industries.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $83,081.00 - $95,000.00 per year
