As a Line Cook at our Cajun Seafood restaurant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our culinary offerings. You'll work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and cooking various Cajun-inspired seafood dishes while adhering to our recipes, standards, and food safety guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Prepare ingredients for cooking according to recipes and portion standards.
Assist in the preparation of seafood, meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety.
Cooking and Plating:
Grill, fry, sauté, and bake seafood and other menu items as directed by the head chef.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure proper cooking and presentation.
Plate dishes attractively and according to established plating standards.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet our quality standards for taste, appearance, and portion size.
Communicate any issues or discrepancies with food quality or quantity to the kitchen management team promptly.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff members, including chefs, sous chefs, and other line cooks, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Maintain open communication and a positive attitude in a high-pressure environment.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Keep workstations clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.
Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Follow proper closing procedures to ensure the kitchen is clean and ready for the next shift.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a line cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, preferably with experience in Cajun or seafood cuisine.
Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment operation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
