We are seeking an Assistant Director that is passionate about early childhood. Full time positions available.
Responsibilities:
-Implement and oversee all Programs.
-Oversee all staff members and those in training. This includes helping during the hiring process, supervising, training, and evaluation with the Executive Director.
-Enforce personnel policies
-Work with parents to maintain healthy relationships and ensure the best care for their child.
-Assist Executive Director in managing staff and helping families. When the Executive Director is not at the Center, ensure they can confidently handle this alone.
-Oversee staff in planning both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
-Create a fun and safe learning environment to ensure that you can meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
-Meet weekly with the director and staff to organize and plan.
-Efficient computer skills, verbal and nonverbal skills, and organizational skills
-Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and through parent- teacher conferences
-Attend 15 hours of in-service and staff trainings per calendar year
-Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 21 ECE Hours
-Illinois Directors Credential through Gateways (preferably)
-Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields. At least 1 year (preferred)
-Bilingual (preferred)
-CPR and First Aid Certification (if not, willingness to obtain)
-Flexible with hours
-Ability to multitask
-Admin or leadership skills (preferred)
-Self-motivated, follows directions, makes good judgments, creative, reliable
