Shift Lead / Assistant Manager - Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Tuesday availability mandatory
PITCHOUN BAKERY - Artisan French bakery pastry store & restaurant, Downtown, L.A. - Is Now hiring : A SHIFT LEAD / ASSISTANT MANAGER
Position Mission:
- Responsible for the opening of the store & morning orders supervision (retail/wholesale/catering).
- Responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the FOH in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Responsible for ensuring the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and customer connections during the shift.
- Manages the shift requirements for labor, customer service and employee tasks, in accordance to Pitchoun! standards.
- Maintains a consistent and outstanding guest experience while supporting daily sales goals.
Responsibilities Include:

Essential Functions:
- Guest Service
- Ensures guests are welcomed into the store and well treated
- FOH daily shift work (cashiers opening, taking orders on registers, providing customer service, placing fresh products in display every morning, taking care of catering/wholesale morning orders...)
Employee Relations/Coaching:
- Manages team to ensure positive customer experience
- Provides tools to help team members sell coffee, pastry and meals as well as promotional items
- Provides packaging advice & instructions for retail dry goods
Store Upkeep/Cleaning:
- Ensures floors are scrubbed/cleaned
- Keeps a weekly cleaning staff check list
- Ensures that the next shift members are set up for success by stocking all products, cleaning all areas of the store and completing the store maintenance sheets
Administrative:
- Creates schedules
- Compiles the shift log- Supports new product rollouts
Principal Accountabilities:
- Full knowledge of store operations
- Opening cash management
- Full knowledge of French bakery, French pastries & cuisine
- Ability to train team members when needed
Required Experience & qualities:
- High school diploma minimum
- 5 YEARS MINIMUM at the same Shift leader position in a bakery/restaurant, involving cashier responsibilities, supervising duties and customer service
- Must be at least 21 year old
- Must be an early bird and be able to work every day at 7am according to days (as well as being flexible about schedules and working holidays and weekends)
- Must be a positive, dynamic, quick-learner, used to face-paced environments
- Avid multi-tasker who works well under pressure
- Willing to grow within our family-owned company
- Must have reliable transportation
- SPEAKING FRENCH IS A PLUS
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this position are hearing, speaking, seeing, carrying, bending, walking, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and being able to stand for 8 hours, or the ability to accomplish the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
