Responsibilities:
- Perform periodontal examinations and diagnose oral conditions
- Develop treatment plans and provide periodontal therapy to patients
- Perform surgical procedures such as gum grafting, crown lengthening, and dental implant placement
- Collaborate with general dentists and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive dental care
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in periodontal treatments and technologies
Skills:
- Proficiency in dental office software, such as Eaglesoft for patient management and record keeping
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and systems to ensure a safe and sterile environment
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to periodontal conditions and treatments
- Competence in taking vital signs and monitoring patient health during procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Understanding of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance claims processing
