We are seeking a flexible & organized administrative professional to join the Human Resources department of the Zion National Park Forever Project. The Human Resources Assistant plays a critical role in the Zion Forever Team by providing administrative support to the Human Resources department, including employee engagement & event support, payroll administration, and recruiting support. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and provides an exciting opportunity for growth within the organization.

The Forever Project’s headquarters are in Zion National Park. The Human Resources Assistant position is primarily remote with occasional travel to park offices.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the following:
EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION AND ENGAGEMENT - 35%
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
- Coordinate and organize employee appreciation events, recognizing achievements and milestones.
- Gather feedback from employees and contribute to the development of programs that enhance the overall employee experience.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating events, such as training sessions and workshops, end of year employee party, ZFP philanthropy events, etc.
PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION – 25%
- Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for full and part-time staff in compliance with relevant labor laws and organizational policies.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and address payroll-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile payroll data and maintain financial accuracy.
- Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance with payroll processes.
RECRUITING SUPPORT – 25%
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews as directed by the Director of HR.
- Conduct initial screenings of entry-level candidates, check references as needed, and support hiring managers in the selection process as necessary.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including offer letters, new hire packets, and training coordination.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT - 15%
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to address employee inquiries and concerns.
KEYS TO SUCCESS (THE MUST-HAVES)
To be successful in this job, you will excel in these areas:
Hard skills:
- 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in human resources or payroll administration is required. Event planning experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality is required.
- Previous experience with ADP or other HRIS systems is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Soft skills:
