Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the IS systems for Food & Nutrition Services. This includes requesting system access for users, developing and implementing training based on needs of users; conducting process improvement activities to ensure programs function effectively and supports all Edward-Elmhurst Health Food and Nutrition Service policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Administers the IS systems for Food & Nutrition Services at all three campuses within the South Region. Requests system access for department users; provides technical support for equipment issues; continually updates the database and communicates changes to users; develops and implements training based on needs of users; conducts process improvement activities to ensure programs function effectively.
Assesses and facilitates training needs for users at all EEH facilities. Develops and implements training materials for Food & Nutrition Services; provides training to department leaders, other users (individuals and groups), and dietetic staff; provides training and implementation support for reports; designs and updates procedural policies needed to maximize technology effectiveness. Responds to customer queries and service issues by finding and resolving database discrepancies; corrects data entry errors; provides technical support to users.
Provides on-going review and evaluation of processes to improve the quality of Food and Nutrition Services; continually reviews existing technology programs and processes; evaluates new program and services available in the marketplace to improve process flow, maximize financial charging and expand training services. Develops processes to support user requirements.
Manages food service software systems to meet compliance and safety measures and optimizes software functions.
Collaborates with Food Service, Clinical Nutrition, and other disciplines in the organization to provide appropriate therapeutic diets and regular menus to meet the needs of the patient populations at each facility.
Works in conjunction with the Executive Chef to review recipes, create standard recipes and analyze recipes to ensure accuracy of nutritional data. Responsible for building and maintaining the nutrient analysis database, the nutrition analysis document, and nutrient compliance for all diets served as clinically appropriate and as required by regulatory agencies.
Identifies opportunities to utilize the food service software to improve patient satisfaction, cost savings, and revenue generation.
Acts as the authority on all technology invoices and contracts. Reviews invoices for processing and payment. Maintains data related to technology on end of month spreadsheets.
Coordinates and schedules system upgrades as appropriate. Tests CBORD and other technology upgrades in a safe, neutral environment, to facilitate building new functions; maintains the test environment to manually check accuracy of information prior to inputting.
