The Lower School Academy at Lawrence High School serves students who are making the transition from a variety of public and private middle schools in the City of Lawrence. We recognize the importance of the early high school years as a launching point to a school career where students are supported in reaching their highest academic and extracurricular potentials.
Lawrence High School's Lower School is seeking exceptional teachers to join our 9th and 10th grade teams who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Co-teach 5 sections of English
Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum Frameworks
Implement common assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction
Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary cohort
Meet special education compliance (IEP writing, progress monitoring and reporting, and meetings)
Collaborate with content and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.
Act as advisor to a group of 8-15 students.
Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral progress.

Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback
Humility and a good sense of humor

Salary range: $56,945 to $84,573
