Overview
Empire Office is currently seeking a Senior Designer in our Atlanta, GA office to join our growing team. The function of this position is to lead the execution and coordination of design projects in collaboration with the Design team, and responsible for guiding the designers in the coordination of workflow, assistance and review of design projects, and training. This role will be responsible for leading projects from conception through execution and installation and will act as the sales teams and clients’ main point of contact through the design process.
Key Responsibilities

Liaise with sales teams, clients and supporting departments to gather project requirements, establish project time line, and develop project budget.

Lead the design team to develop creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill the client’s expectations and conform to applicable building codes and access requirements.

Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of furniture brands and design partnership products to expedite/trouble shoot projects and assist with the training of Designers for design processes, and updates of the systems and software.

Create drawings in AutoCAD and/or CET (typicals, furniture plans, 3D’s)

Maintenance of internal reporting systems, i.e. time sheets and project files

Adhere to deadlines of key deliverables

Prepare installation drawings and supporting documents (specs)

Identify areas that need field verification and coordinate actual dimensions with final plan

Inventory existing product; incorporate in furniture plans and specifications

Create specifications and .sif files (including key schedules and tagging) and revise drawings and specs (including .sif) when required

Promote efficient and productive work environment

Interior Design Degree or relevant Bachelor’s degree

At least 5 – 7 years of experience with interior design and in the commercial furniture industry

Proficient in AutoCAD, CAP and CET

Proven organizational, time management, and follow-through skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of the Building Codes, especially the Accessibility Code.

Taking an active role during client presentations to provide quick solutions on the go.

Knowledge of construction and construction sites. Site visits, field measurements, and meetings with contractors may be required. Coordination with other trades is required.

Ability to create functional and efficient space planning.

Ability to work onsite and the hours as needed to support team and meet customer expectations
