Qualifications

Experience in independently analyzing information, analyzing user problems, drawing conclusions, making recommendations, and implementing computer-based solutions. (Required)
- Experience in network client analysis and implementation configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting network client systems (incl. but not limited to servers, NAS devices, workstations, printers,etc) (Required)
- Experience configuring and support of networking multi-user systems and services such as email, file server access, file transfer and remote access to systems. (Required)
- Experience performing basic hardware maintenance and upgrades on current PC platforms. (Required)
- Experience with administration of Windows Domains and Microsoft Active Directory. (Required)
- Experience with issue-tracking systems such as Zendesk, Service Now, and Jira. (Required)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computer systems, network principles and systems software products, operating systems and documentation techniques. Knowledge of relational database management systems such as MySQL. (Required)

Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing with co-workers, faculty, staff, students and outside vendors of equipment and software. (Required)

Demonstrated skill in systems analysis and in assessing alternative solutions, developing and implementing plans. (Required)

Detailed knowledge of Windows, Macintosh and UNIX/Linux operating systems. Expertise with Microsoft Windows servers and Windows file sharing. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting multiple Linux-based file systems such as EXT3, EXT4, XFS, JFS. (Required)

Ability to use Linux package management systems such as Red Hat / Fedora RPM and YUM or Debian apt-get, synaptic, dpkg, or aptitude. Skill in writing effective Linux shell scripts and supporting Linux-based services such as SSHD and HTTPD. (Required)

Skill performing system testing, fault isolation, problem identification and resolution, and performance analysis. (Required)

Skill in effectively prioritizing tasks, and accurately assessing criticality, when faced with competing service requests and/or system faults. (Required)
