Overview
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have skilled/knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, floor care, and snow removal. High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Certifications in related field preferred. A minimum of three years’ experience in maintenance and one-year supervisory experience required. Must demonstrate ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as other web-based services. Must have strong analytical and organizational skills. Must possess an Indiana Driver’s License.
SUPERVISION: This position reports to the Executive Director and is supervisor of all staff in the Facilities Department including
maintenance techs and housekeeping.
POSITION PHILOSOPHY: The Facilities Director is responsible for ensuring that T.C. Harris facilities and grounds meet and/or exceed the standards set by Indiana Administrative Code 465 as they pertain to maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds. The Facilities Director schedules and supervises maintenance workers engaged in building and grounds upkeep and repair. The Facilities Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising preventative maintenance programs for the buildings and grounds. The Facilities Director works to direct, schedule, and oversee external contractors. The Facilities Director is responsible for developing and monitoring the departmental budget. The Facilities Director must be available to be on call.
