Our company is seeking a friendly and experienced individual who is interested in joining our dynamic team of Nursing Assistants. We are looking for an individual who is willing to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide competent compassionate care to Little Sisters of the Poor residents while observing company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, courteous, and empathetic.
Essential Duties:
- Understand the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the elderly.
- Provide excellent hands-on daily care to Home residents, including but not limited to assistance with hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meals, making each life activity meaningful for each resident; perform and accurately record nursing rehab programs.
- Remain up-to-date regarding information found in residents’ most current assessments.
- Implement each resident’s individual care plan as directed by the unit nurse and Sister and in accordance with established methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Recognize symptoms and report residents’ conditions in a timely manner.
- Accurately take and record vital signs.
- Document electronically and in writing daily in all required areas.
- Wear/carry a transfer belt as part of the required uniform.
- Efficiently use all unit equipment including, but not limited to telephones, walkie-talkies, call lights, paging systems, mechanical lifts, scales, and whirlpool tubs.
- Understand how to communicate with persons who have hearing or visual impairments.
- Observe, disinfect and immediately report concerns regarding unit equipment.
- Comprehend the importance of restorative nursing in-home care.
- Interpret signs of changes in health status in elderly people.
