Job Description
The Annual Fund and Development Communications Manager at the Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) is a critical member of the fundraising team and works to champion the organization's mission to lead people toward a lifelong engagement with music by providing widely accessible resources for high quality music teaching, performing, and service activities -- and harnessing the power of music to educate, inspire and bring comfort to the communities we serve.
Summary/objective
The Annual Fund and Development Communications Manager is responsible for contributions from a constituency of Individuals and leads the cross-departmental collaboration required for the smooth execution of donor communications. In collaboration with the Vice President and Chief Development Officer, this position will develop, execute and manage audience-based fundraising strategies for individuals, including direct mail, online giving, email and social media, and additional campaigns as appropriate that build relationships, increase contributions and continually move donors to higher levels of annual giving.

Required education and experience
BA or equivalent
2+ years of professional experience in a development department or related field
Experience working with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to work after hours and weekends on occasion
Interest in music and the Music Institute's mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in nonprofit/arts administration or related field
- Membership in professional Development groups such as Association of Fundraising Professionals, and others.
U.S. Work Authorization is required.
