PURPOSE:
The PBX Operator is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient handling all in coming calls, assist in all outgoing call in accordance with Millennium process and procedures.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promptly answer incoming and outgoing calls, reply to callers with a positive and clear voice. Listen to establish the correct extension. Understanding a complex computer console is very important.
- Requires sitting in a confined space for long periods of time to continuously perform essential functions.
- Record wide-ranging messages and convey information to verify accuracy. Input and retrieve messages from the computer as requested.
- Read and verbally recite exact messages for guests.
- Set up wakeup calls into the automated wake-up system and verbally confirm time to guest.
- Enter comments or guest issues for other departments in ALICE system so they can correct the issue and follow up to make sure it’s done.
- Provide timely information via two-way radios to associates in response to emergencies and guest requests such as plumbing problems, airport shuttle service, etc.
- Briefly answer basic inquiries, time, extension numbers, outlet hours, etc.
- Immediately answer the emergency line, listen to details to identify nature of problem and respond appropriately in accordance with established procedures.
- Initiate emergency response as necessary and legibly documents pertinent details.
- Remain calm and polite especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity.
- Resolve complications and complaints such as missed wake up calls or missed messages using previous experience and good judgment.
The Selected candidate will be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Have the ability to remain calm and have positive attitude when high volume of calls come in. Be able to work quickly without compromising quality and have the ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
