We at D’Veal Family and Youth Services (D’Veal) understand it is vital that behavioral health challenges of children and families in the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles County be met with services consistent with the dynamic needs of today’s world, and within the parameters of various governmental agencies. Our salary range is between $67,000 to $72,000 per year, depending on experience
D’Veal is here to help you become a successful Therapist, so you can focus on your clients. As a D’Veal Therapist you will:
CALVIP PROGRAM
- Will liaise with community partners and stakeholders.
- Monitor referral for services from the community and provide triage.
- Available to serve clients and their families within the community.
- Acts as a liaison with community sites.
- Maintains communication within the community.
- Performs observations/consultations of potential clients as requested.
MDFT (during and after MDFT training)
- Responsible for collecting and maintaining client and program information to meet Agency and MDFT reporting and evaluation requirements.
General Therapist responsibilities
- Assess client needs and eligibility for services.
- Provide selected agency services to an identified caseload, referring clients to other services as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain client case records, plans and reports; compile data for statistical purposes.
- Maintains current and acceptable standards of charting, meeting the requirements of State audits.
- May work with schools and other agencies to coordinate and facilitate services to clients.
- Attend in-services, staffing and other meetings as assigned.
- Participate in agency and community planning and education.
- Provide peer consultation/new staff training; may be assigned lead worker role as the need arises.
- Conduct intake evaluations/screenings with resident/client and/or family.
- Conduct psychosocial evaluations.
- Participate in staffing regarding treatment plan of care of clients.
- Maintain contact with clients for counseling and adjustment as needed.
- Communicate with family regarding client adjustment and plan of care when indicated.
- Consult with psychiatrist to provide follow-through in treatment of clients.
- Communicate with multi-disciplinary team regarding treatment planning and resident adaptation to these issues.
- Provide psychotherapy/counseling services to a diverse clinical population utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, including individual, group and family therapy.
- Consult with community agencies and groups.
- Deliver emergency and crisis services.
- Participate in individual supervision/consultation as needed. Screen and assign cases in supervisor’s absence as needed.
- Fulfill productivity requirements on a weekly basis (between 20-30 hours of billable service for full-time 40 hours per week employees).
- Performs all other duties assigned.

We're looking for individuals with the following:
- You have a related degree such as a Master’s degree in Social Work or Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
- You are registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) with an ACSW, MSW or APCC
- Prior experience and knowledge with DMH documentation would be great to have
- Bilingual in Spanish is not necessary, but let us know if you are
- Be fully vaccinated with against COVID-19
