A 28,000 sq ft new opportunity, between 48th & 49th St., consisting of multiple individual units like a 1st floor pizza/small “grab and go” bites quick service business named Broadway Pizza & Bites , 2nd floor convertible nightclub with a Latin-inspired full-service restaurant named Circo NYC , and finally another restaurant/lounge, Tots Diner , on the 4th floor that will also have live music and club programming during the weekends.
We currently are looking for a Senior Accountant/Controller to lead and plan our accounting and financial activities for the 1604 Broadway office. We a looking for a responsible, well-organized, and talented individual to establish processes and internal controls. This position will require someone that can operate QuickBooks, be autonomous at times, can work within a team, and contribute, multitask, be analytical, and take initiative!
Responsibilities/activities may revolve around or subjected to:
- Operate Intuit QuickBooks proficiency, likewise with Excel from Microsoft Office
- Perform and monitor accounts payable, receivables, cash disbursements, and cash receipts.
- Process and posts journal entries for routine transactions, month-end close, quarterly close, and year-end close.
- Assist/responsible for month end bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including business unit level reporting, customer and product line reporting, additional supplemental schedules, outside reporting, and annual unit level budgets.
- Implement and maintain accounting processes, policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with sound accounting principles, applicable regulations, law, and best practices to ensure accurate record keeping amongst accounting team.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; potentially assist with filing annual corporate tax return.
- Work with leadership team to improve record keeping; involved in preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Provide key support for year-end financial internal audits and potential external audits requests.
- Protect organization’s cores, values, and beliefs by guarding confidential information.
- Complete special projects, as requested.
Requirements:
- 4+ years’ minimum experience fulling a similar role; Accountant, Senior Accountant, Controller, or general accounting practices
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Familiar/proficient utilizing QuickBooks Enterprise/Online
- Experience with month-end close and full cycle accounting.
- Familiarity with administration experience, preferably in book/record keeping.
- Understanding of Accounts Payable, Receivables, general ledger work, and reconciliation
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, other administration-use tools
- Entertainment, Marketing, or Restaurant industry experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, assiduousness to detail and with accuracy.
- Desire and motivation to learn new skills and expand knowledge to improve job performance and self-improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels; staff, management, occasionally customers/guests.
- Strives for excellence and upholds organizational standards such as cooperation and confidentiality.

Compensation:
- Salary range, depending on experience: $85,000 – $95,000 per year.
