Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Mill Room restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, wine knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
Duties:
- Manage and lead the restaurant team, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by overseeing service quality and addressing customer concerns
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain quality standards
- Implement and maintain proper food safety procedures
- Oversee inventory control and ordering to minimize waste and optimize costs
- Develop and update menus in collaboration with the culinary team
- Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant
Skills:
- Proven experience in a restaurant setting, with knowledge of kitchen operations
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team
- Familiarity with inventory control and cost management practices
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff and customers
- Knowledge of POS systems for order processing and payment handling
- Culinary background or experience as a cook is a plus
- Passion for coffee or experience in coffee service is beneficial
