Network Engineer
We are looking for a Network Engineer who will be our go-to person for all things networking. Your primary duty will include supporting our various client networks. You will be troubleshooting network problems, leading networking projects and supporting our internal team’s escalations. This will be a client facing position so being comfortable working with end users is required.
To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and SDWAN components. Understanding how to secure client networks and preventing cyberattacks will be a primary role of this position.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Primary go-to engineer for all things networking
- IT Project delivery on time and within budgeted time and cost
- Delivering top-quality technical service to clients, both remotely and at client sites
- Effectively communicating with clients to schedule and perform repairs/upgrades/installs
- Documenting billable and non-billable work associated with work, both internal and on-site
- Assisting with escalations of network and system issues
Job Requirements:
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting various router/firewall devices
- Familiarity with pfSense, Sonicwall, Cisco and other providers required
- Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex networks
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting complex VLAN environments.
- VOIP experience
- Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity and tools to prevent attacks.
- Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMWare ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix)
- Completed industry training is a plus (MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, A+, Net+, etc.)
- Hands on experience with small and medium business networking
- Experience working with an MSP or with multi-client enviornments
- Experience working in a customer-facing role
- Participation in on-call rotations
- Ability to work as part of a team to resolve issues
- Good communication, documentation and time management skills
