To maintain Palletized Trucking equipment operational by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments. While complying with federal and state laws.
Job Duties:
· Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections.
· Capable of conducting diagnosis and troubleshooting by using diagnostic computers to correct engine and or service lights.
· Knowledge on trouble shooting electrical components, able to read wiring diagrams and making repairs.
· Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance.
· Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; etc.
· Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives.
· Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, and safety standards.
· Maintains personal, work area and vehicle appearance.
· Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs in computer workstations.
· Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
· Any other job assigned by supervisor.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Skills and Qualifications:
Personal Tooling required, Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Job Knowledge, 2 years plus of experience.
- State Inspection license
- CDL would be a plus
- Experience operating alignment machine would be a plus
