Overview
Dedicated and compassionate School Behavior Assistants are welcomed! Help a student to learn social behavioral skills, classroom readiness skills or with a student who has developmental disabilities. Provide 1:1 care, and assist with behavioral therapy.
Strong commitment to helping individuals with special needs and a passion for working with students in a general education school setting.
Duties
- Work 1-to-1 with an assigned student in a General Education classroom.
- Implement interventions to support the student in reaching social and academic goals. - Implement a behavior plan to reduce challenging behavior.
- Record data collection to inform the success of treatment plans.
- Implement behavioral therapy techniques to help students develop positive behaviors.
- Meet with and receive ongoing training and support from the clinical supervisor.
- Develop and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Experience
- Experience working with children in any setting for at least 1 year
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year experience working in a school-based setting as a Special Education Assistant, paraprofessional, Behavior Interventionist (BII), Behavior Therapist (BT), or related position required
-Registered Behavior Technician certificate (RBT)
Academic Need:
- HS Diploma
Preferred Academic Need:
-B.A. Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Behavior Analysis
- OR At Least 18 months of college education with an emphasis in psychology, child development, sociology or related field
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.50 - $25.90 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
