The purpose of the Stationary Engineer position is to maintain the supply of hot and cold water and steam needed by the utility users. The Stationary Engineer will be responsible for attending to equipment such as pumping plants, boilers, air heaters, condensers, cooling towers, deaerators and also industrial machinery within all areas that he or she is assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, operate and maintain engines and machinery.
- Install and operate equipment, such as boilers, pumps, valves, and mechanical equipment.
- Work to ensure facilities comply with federal, state and local standards.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for employees and customers by following safety procedures.
- Work to evaluate sustainability initiatives.,.
- MD Class 3 license required
