General Responsibility:
The duties of the HVAC Commercial Foreman is to install a variety of different HVAC installations and projects to be completed on-time and on-budget. Responsible for directing the field crews, perform a number of duties critical to the efficiency of their work sites as a hands-on working foreman. They will coordinate and meet with the construction builders, project manager, engineers, co-workers, and other trades.
Significant Duties:
· Supervises the work of HVAC leads, installers, apprentices and subcontractors
· Plans, leads, organizes, controls, and performs HVAC installations
· Reviews blue prints, job specifications, as well as be able to suggest changes when necessary
· Responsible for compliance and submitting weekly time cards for employees onsite, conducting weekly safety toolbox meetings.
· Participates in project site meetings and final project walk through
· Provides daily guidance, training, and direction to HVAC crews consisting of installers, apprentices and subcontractors
· Ensures safety, budget, job quality, and timely completion of each assigned project
· Build strong relationship with field team, general contractors and builders to lead a positive work environment
· Studies job specifications, schedules to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
· Makes decisions by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
· Responsible for keeping project work deadlines and approval by Superintendent
· Coordinate with superintendent for project scheduling and manpower requirements
· Resolve issues related to material deliverables
· Follows health and safety standards
· Analyzes problems and identifies appropriate tools and materials for installation
· Travel to different jobsites as directed by management
· Other duties or projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Driver License, with good DMV record is required
· Three to five years of hands on experience as a Foreman within the HVAC industry
· Ability to be patient with employees and demonstrate professionalism at all time
· Extensive knowledge and work experience in the trade of HVAC and general construction
· Ability to collaborate and communicate effective with all levels of management and colleagues
· Must have the ability to be flexible, decisive, and work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
· Able to take directions for HVAC work to be done and perform tasks with limited supervision
· Strong leadership and communication and time management skills
· Must be able to use critical thinking to effectively solve issues
· Must have knowledge of smart phone/IPad functions emails
· Able to review all drawings and specifications and develop on-site plans and procedures to determine sequence and methods of fabrication, assembling, and installation
Physical Requirements: The position of HVAC Foreman requires that you frequently lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50lbs. Ability to consistently, climb a ladder, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist. Exposed to constant work in outdoor weather conditions. Travel to jobsites will be necessary and would require the ability to walk on uneven unclean terrain for several hours.
