About The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Dispatcher to join our team. As an Assistant Dispatcher, you'll play a vital role alongside our senior dispatchers in coordinating logistics and delivering exceptional customer service. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and timely dispatching of drivers to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior dispatchers with administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and other office duties.
- Answer incoming calls from customers, service lines, and departments while providing excellent customer service.
- Update the day-to-day work schedule and communicate changes to the team as necessary.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping in internal systems of delivery orders and maintain a log of calls, issues, and any other operational activity.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules with in house mechanics shop.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments regarding orders for delivery, pick-up, inventory issues, and vehicle loading. Assist in picking up or delivering purchases or supplies as needed.
- Utilize GPS and other tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routes.
- Coordinate with drivers to address any issues or delays that may arise during deliveries.
- Monitor driver progress and provide updates to customers as needed.
- On occasion in the interest of learning the work being dispatch will work performing labor work at jobsites as available.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in administrative or customer service roles.
- Technical proficiency with computers and software programs.
- Proficiency in MS Office, dispatch programs, and GPS software is a plus.
- Willingness to perform other duties as required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Bilingual required (Spanish).
- US Work Authorization.
Candidates with customer service experience and general computer knowledge are encouraged to apply. While prior dispatch experience is a plus, it is not required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
