We are looking for a creative Mechanical Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
- Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
- Design parts, assemblies, and drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Write assembly, testing, and installation procedures
- Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret results
- Test and evaluate theoretical designs
- Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
- Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
- Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
- Estimate budget and scope of project
- Solicit observations from operators and technicians
- Inspect incoming parts for quality, prepare reports, and write documentation
- Build rapport with all members of the team from Sales to manufacturing and from vendors to end users.
- Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Skills
Required:
- BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven working experience in mechanical engineering
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAD)
- High level of proficiency in 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (up to date experience with Autodesk Inventor and advanced proficiency are required)
- Creativity and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools
- Basic proficiency with hand tools
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Technical writing skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes: mills, press brakes, lathes, CNC machines, etc.
- Be a self-starter, able to work through projects efficiently with minimal supervision
- Takes pride in their work and ownership of their projects
- The ability to efficiently manage and organize several projects at one time while also being able to switch projects midstream as needed
- Basic computer proficiency including Windows, Microsoft 365 Suite, SharePoint, and Planner
Preferred:
- Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Experience with Autodesk Vault & Inventor’s Content Center
