We are excited to open our doors and we are looking for a talented and passionate Assistant General Manager to lead our team.
Position Summary:
As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation. You will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant activities, uphold our commitment to exceptional guest service and create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the heart and soul of Southern hospitality. This role requires a strong background in service and staff training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience: Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that exudes hospitality, ensuring guests feel valued and appreciated.
- Team Leadership: Assist in recruiting, training and motivating staff to deliver outstanding service and uphold our high standard.
- Operations Management: Support the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including inventory management, scheduling, vendor relations and cost control.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation and service to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Guest Relations: Interact with guests, addressing their concerns, gathering feedback, and ensuring their overall satisfaction.
- Scheduling: Assist in creating staff schedules that optimize productivity and accommodate peak dining hours.
- Financial Management: Contribute to the achievement of financial goals by controlling costs, maximizing revenue and managing budgets.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations, alcohol laws and company policies.
- Problem Solving: Act decisively to resolve any operational or customer related issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in restaurant management, preferably in hospitality-focused and fast-paced establishments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
- A passion for hospitality and an understanding of its traditions and significance.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Proven organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of restaurant software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
