Prestigious law firm seeks experienced Patent Legal Secretary to provide Patent and Trademark secretarial support to the Intellectual Property department. Candidate must have relevant patent prosecution experience along with excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of PTO Filing and E-Filing procedures a must. Experience working in a law firm a plus!
Following experience/duties required:
- Strong computer skills, including keyboarding and proficiency with USPTO PAIR and electronic filing system and procedure, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of general accounting practices, including billing;
- The candidate will manage complex patent prosecution support work and provide exemplary client service to firm clients through close collaboration with Attorneys;
- Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting Attorneys in accurately and thoroughly preparing, reviewing, filing, and reporting USPTO documents, including, for example:
- 1) Applications, 2) Preliminary Amendments, 3) Notices of Allowances, 4) Information Disclosure Statements, 5) Post-Allowance Requests for Examination, 6) Declarations/Assignments/Powers of Attorney, 7) Payment of Issue Fees, 8) Terminal Disclaimers and 9) continuing applications.
- Foreign Filings from inception to end, including communicating with agents;
- Other duties as assigned required.
