Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing and sales strategies to drive revenue growth and brand recognition.
- Lead the sales and marketing teams, providing strategic direction and guidance and incorporating data and demographic information to increase market share.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align sales and marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing campaigns, promotions, and initiatives across various channels.
- Manage the brand identity of Taos Ski Valley, Inc., ensuring consistent messaging and positioning, emphasizing the mystique and Taos Ski Valley being the environmental leader in the ski industry.
- Drive business development efforts, including prospecting, account management, and relationship building.
- Generate Group, Corporate, and Wedding/Event business.
- Develop relationships regionally, in-state, and nationally to drive group sales.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor sales performance and marketing ROI, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
- Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the sales and marketing teams.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Serve as a key liaison with external partners, including agencies, vendors, and industry organizations.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to executive leadership on sales and marketing performance.
- Develop seasonal marketing and sales plans that account for the unique challenges and opportunities of the ski resort industry, including peak and off-peak seasons.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with ski industry organizations, manufacturers, and influencers to enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
- Coordinate and oversee the planning and execution of special events, promotions, and marketing campaigns tailored to the ski resort audience, leveraging key seasonal milestones and trends.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of snow conditions and resort updates to guests and prospective visitors through marketing channels.
- Collaborate with snowsports school and other on-mountain departments to develop integrated marketing and sales initiatives that promote snowsports programs and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize ski pass sales revenue, including early bird promotions, season passholder perks, and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the après-ski experience through innovative marketing and sales initiatives, such as on-mountain dining promotions, après-ski events, and après-ski lodging packages.
- Champion environmental sustainability initiatives within the resort's marketing and sales efforts, highlighting the resort's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in the ski resort industry, including changes in consumer preferences, technology advancements, and competitor strategies, and adapt marketing and sales strategies accordingly.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans to address potential challenges such as adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or public health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective communication with guests and stakeholders.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
- Long hours are sometimes required.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Background Check:
Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check.
