The Regulatory Compliance Associate, in this highly detail-oriented role, is responsible for coordinating the workflow of domestic and international product labeling projects, maintaining all project documentation, obtaining required approvals, and communicating new and revised ingredient declarations to all involved.
Maintain Vendor Approval required documentation included but not limited to Certificates, ingredient specifications, ingredients certifications, etc.
All employees are required to report all food safety issues to their Supervisor immediately, who takes the responsibility to resolve.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain up to date all vendor information for EDUSA as per the Approved Vendor Policy.
- Request all raw material documentation for EDUSA as specified in the Raw material Specification Policy.
- Maintain all raw material documentation updated for EDUSA as specified in Raw material Specification Policy.
- Support Sales & Marketing, through Genesis, with nutritional information on new and existing products.
- Work with Product Commercialization Coordinator to create and maintain all product specifications with photo and related documentation.
- Responsible for keeping customers’ QA regulatory platforms up to date and upload all necessary documentation.
- Responsible for complete Customer’s Food safety questionnaire and other documents requests to set EDUSA as approved vendor
- Approve printed art work to ensure is in compliance with all regulations, internal and customer requirements.
- Responsible to maintain Kosher library up to date, including Ingredients and finished product.
- Take a project from start to finish while working in a constantly changing environment.
- Handle routine details and unexpected changes without losing focus on projects; determine task priority and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain all Vendor and Ingredient Documentation audit ready.
- Shall be a member of the HACCP Team and assist with the development of Hazard Analysis for New Ingredients and Food Contact Packaging according to FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In support of enabling success, the Regulatory Compliance Coordinator will develop specific targets of performance measurements to include the following (Note: this will need to be updated as time progresses):
- Successful new product development and launches
- Proper set up of initial formulas and product specifications and ongoing audit of same.
- Ensure that test runs comply with product design and conceptualization specifications and procedures to assure effectiveness during production runs.
- Knowledge of Genesis Nutritional Software and Labeling Program.
- HACCP Certified to assure Food Safety Hazard Analysis are completed as required by Legislation for Food Safety; i.e. FSMA.
- Knowledge of multi-culture work environment. Act as a professional at all times. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with limited interference.
- Must adhere to all company policies and procedures including, SOP’s and GMP’s. Guidance is necessary in the areas of industry and product related issues. The requirements that follow are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Minimum of Associate Degree in Related field. Concentration in Baking & Pastry, Food Science and/or Food Engineering preferred.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Ability to learn in-house ERP systems.
· Genesis Nutritional Software or related knowledge.
· Working Knowledge of Top Warehouse Software.
· Minimum of 3 years related level experience in business, particularly bakery manufacturing. Results oriented leader, having skills and abilities, with a proven track record. Organizational and team leadership competencies required. Basic technical know-how of diverse factory processes a plus, Baking experience a must.
· Knowledge of Manufacturing processes, GMP’s, Food Safety, HAACP, Lab Techniques, Organic, Kosher, and SQF certifications are very important.
