Job Title: Medical Scheduler and Medical assistant
Overview:
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Scheduler and Medical Assistant where you will play a crucial role in coordinating patient appointments and ensuring efficient scheduling within a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for various medical procedures and consultations.
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure proper allocation of resources for each appointment.
- Maintain electronic scheduling systems with up-to-date patient information and appointment details. Must be proficient with gMed EMR.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide appointment reminders and necessary instructions.
- Assist in organizing and prioritizing urgent care appointments based on medical needs.
- Work closely with physicians and nurses to optimize scheduling processes for patient care.
- Must have experience a GI medical assistant. History taking and basic clinical skills in Gastroenterology
Requirements:
- Experience in and familiarity with Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
- Knowledge of working in a hospital setting, preferably in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
- Ability to handle urgent care situations efficiently and prioritize patient appointments accordingly.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, medical staff, and colleagues effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to maintain accurate records in scheduling systems.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and prioritize tasks based on patient needs.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
-gMed EMR
- Previous experience in Gastroenterology care.
- Familiarity with patient care processes in an ASC setting.
