Essential Functions
1. Obtains blood specimens by established venipuncture and capillary techniques; perform ECG’s when necessary.
2. Follows procedures and work practices related to collection, processing, storage and shipment of research specimens as defined in lab manuals, protocols and study-specific reference materials.
3. Responsible for validation of SP requests and preparation of kits and other materials for specimen collections per standard lab practices.
4. Ensures specimen integrity through appropriate handling and accurate labeling of specimens, related requisitions and documentation.
5. Responsible for primary trial assignments and related duties, which include trial start-up; in-depth knowledge of trial requirements; maintenance of notes and study reference materials; and inventory management; able to take on more complex primary trial assignments and related duties when required.
6. Communicates & collaborates effectively with all groups within the CTO, Sponsors and Clinic/Hospital Staff.
7. Able to work independently; demonstrates adequate problem-solving skills and awareness of available resources.
8. Manages time and workload efficiently and prioritizes workflow effectively; able to assess workload and delegates responsibilities to other team members when appropriate.
9. Adheres to safe laboratory practices while maintaining a clean and organized work space.
10. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Practice Documents.
11. Assist in the training/re-training of employees; mentoring and continuing education/certification for current employees
